Feel Good Reads Challenge August 2016 – The List

Back in early July I was getting worried that my reading choices were becoming a little bit, ahem, gloomy. I decided that I need to up my reading game by giving more attention to books that give one all the good feels. Consequently, the feel-good reads challenge was born.

I put out a request here and on twitter for people to send me their suggestions. A veritable flood of choices were sent my way and I’d like to thank everyone who offered up their recommended reads.  I normally get through about three to four books a month but given that this is a challenge, below is a slightly longer list of novels I’m going try and get through this August.

Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

Eggshells by Catriona Lally

The Reluctant Bride by Beverely Eikli

The Long Way Down by Nick Hornby

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day – Winifred Watson

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet – Becky Chambers

Thanks again to all those who offered suggestions. I’ll be doing a review and a wrap-up at the end of the month so stay tuned!.

And how about you? What are your reading goals for August? Will you be participating in any book challenges? Let me know in the comments.

This sounds like a great challenge 🙂 I haven’t read any of the books you mention (probably because I tend to read books that aren’t exactly happy…) so I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on them.

Thanks. I’m looking forward to taking my reading out of it’s comfort zone.
